Like any family trying to run a business, our days are filled with fun, commitments and constant negotiation. With 2 small people between our feet and about 850 passion fruit plants to nurture, every day presents a new challenge. Giving our children the experience of growing up on an orchard and showing them our passion for the natural world is important to us.
We really enjoy growing fresh, high quality fruit and we want that fruit to be enjoyed by our customers. However, through the typical supply chains, we miss out on receiving feedback from our customers. We want to connect with the people eating our fruit. We want feedback! And we'd love to show you what orchard life is like!
We know there are other growers who would love the same opportunity, which is why we've teamed up with local, like-minded growers to offer a bigger range of delicious tropical produce.
We're delivering direct from the orchard where the fruit is grown, right to your door, across NZ.
We're passionate about delivering exceptionally tasty, fresh and healthy fruit for you to enjoy. We take care of our soil and we operate with our environment in mind. We are on a journey to restore our soil health by eliminating pesticides and synthetic fertilisers, and by introducing natural solutions to our growing challenges. Follow us on social media for updates on our journey.
Diving into horticulture in 2017 was a completely crazy adventure for me, with a 7 month old baby and Hoppy still working in Australia. When we bought the orchard I had never even eaten a fresh passionfruit, let alone driven a tractor or fixed a fence! Fast-forward a few years and, along with everything else I've learnt, I've discovered that plants really are my thing! I never dread a day of work and I'm always itching to get back out in the orchard.
While I never really thought I would find myself helping to grow and run a passion fruit orchard (I prefer eating them), I quickly realised that I love my life on the orchard. It's a massive change from my other job as a helicopter pilot, but that diversity in life is something we all hope for and I am thankful I have found it here in Oropi with my family. While Bek is definitely the star horticulturist, I enjoy the building, and maintenance side of owning an orchard. When I'm not here on the orchard I like to be either flying choppers or in the ocean chasing waves or kingfish!
We're partnering up with local growers of fresh tropical or subtropical fruit to supply you via our online store. We want to bring you their story too - and show you what life is like on their orchard! Check them out here.
